Elvige Cassard (formerly
Richards)
Ms. Cassard is Special Counsel to the firm. She specializes
in labor and employment advices and litigation and represents
employers in labor and employment related lawsuits, arbitrations,
mediations, administrative and other actions. Ms. Cassard
has special expertise in a wide spectrum of personnel
policies and issues and has given and contributed to
numerous trainings, speeches and presentations on labor
and employment law issues for business owners and managers
in New Orleans and throughout the Gulf Coast Region.
Ms.
Cassard received her B.A. from Newcomb College of Tulane
University and her J.D. from Loyola University New
Orleans School of Law where she was a member of the
Loyola Law Review and Moot Court Staff. She received
the Loyola Law Clinic Award and McCauley Scholarship
and served as Student Bar Association Class Representative.
Ms. Cassard is admitted to the Louisiana Bar (1988) and
all State and Federal District and Appellate Courts throughout
Louisiana. Ms. Cassard is a member of the New Orleans
Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute where
she serves on the Employment Law Committee. With the
American Bar Association she is a member of the Labor
and Employment Law Section and the Litigation Section.
She also serves on the Committee on Ethics and Professionalism.
She is a contributor to the BNA treatise, Employment
Discrimination Law, and its supplements and is a
past faculty member for the National Institute for Trial
Advocacy.
