JON VAN STEENIS

Mr. Van Steenis began practicing in 2000, concentrating his practice on professional liability defense, commercial litigation and transactions, insurance coverage, insurance casualty defense, adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court, civil RICO, complex litigation, administrative law, appeals, and various other areas. 

Mr. Van Steenis is admitted to practice before the United States Fifth and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and all federal and state courts in Louisiana. 

Representative appellate opinions successfully argued include Crabtree v. Vockroth, 827 So.2d 521 (La. App. 5 Cir. 2002), writ denied, 836 So.2d 77 (La.2003).  Publications include Poachers as Pirates:  International Fishing Regulations and the Case of the Bluefin Tuna, 29 Capital Univ. Law Rev. 659-679 (2002).

Mr. Van Steenis received his Masters of Law in environmental and energy law from Tulane University in 2001.  He received his Juris Doctor from Regent University in Virginia in 1999, and did his undergraduate work at the University of California at Berkeley, graduating with a degree in history in 1996.
